Project Information:

Design & Display Structures were appointed as the specialist GRP subcontractor to design detail, manufacture and install complex curving cladding to fit around a primary steelwork structure providing an exciting learning space.

The D&D design team worked closely with the main contractor Laing O’Rourke, concept Architects HOK and a team of associated specialist trades to achieve the dramatic effect desired on this challenging development.

After the 3D models and preliminary design details had been progressed D&D sliced up of the scheme into component parts to enable the bespoke tooling (patterns and moulds) to take shape.

All manufactured off site for maximum convenience, these prefinished modular cladding sections were delivered to site in carefully organised phases to minimise site storage space taken up and facilitate speedy installation.

The pod looks spectacular and attracts visitors towards this exciting learning space.

Why choose D&D? We offer an industry leading service including pre tender scheme analysis, value engineering, compliant tender bids, CAD construction drawings, precision GRP manufacture, cost control, project specific method statements and risk assessments, a highly organised CSCS qualified site team and O&M manuals.
