TW Steel Daytona Dmax 25 Hour Race April 2016

D&D gear up for the two stroke kart race of the year

D&D gear up for the two stroke race of the year

Eagerly anticipated is this hugely successful event organised by Daytona Motorsport and sponsored by TW Steel being held on 30th April into 1st May 2016 at their 1,360m outdoor kart track in Milton Keynes.

D&D have assembled together a group of ten talented kart drivers to form two teams that will battle it out with 38 other teams racing in the top Dmax class two stroke 125cc: Allan Curtis, Tom Eastwood, Simon Gibson, Bruno Botelho, Cameron Noble, Andy Parish, Sławek żużel, Harrison Bird, Gareth Biddle and Luke Gardner.

Last year 2015 during race practise Allan Curtis headed the leader board recording the fastest lap time, going on the secure P2 on the starting grid for the D&D team with 1.05.194 having been pipped to the post by Tom Golding of TW BAAM 1.05.093 during the qualifying session.

The race will be particularly interesting as the slower but still very quick Sodikarts will be on the circuit at the same time competing for their own trophies and so the 25 hour race will require 100% driver concentration as around the circuit clean swift overtaking will be a must on every bend and straight if a good overall result is to be had.

Dmax karts have 50% more horsepower than a Sodikart, a lighter Birel race chassis and more grip in the dry thereby providing the ultimate in kart thrills and guaranteed adrenalin rush. Racing over 25 hours will challenge all competitors on many fronts, from driving fast to looking after the condition of their kart.

Live timing of the event will be broadcast on https://www.race-monitor.com/Live/Race/xxxxx
