Caterham Motorsport 2022 310R CGRC Sigma 150 Championships

Fibreglass specialists D&D Wildcard Racing get set for the Caterham Motorsport 2022 310R Championship and CGRC Trophy.

Building on the fast progression made during earlier Roadsport and 270R championship seasons the D&D Caterham race car has undergone its latest transformation to a 310R / Sigma 150 spec in anticipation of the 2022 season.

This involves upgrading the engine to a more powerful 152bhp output through adding new cams with an ECU remap and the key introduction of a limited slip differential (LSD) for increased traction and improved cornering. This new power to weight ratio is well in excess of a Porsche 911. And finally the addition of roll cage mounted LED brake lights.

In 2022 the car is entered into two championships governed by Motorsport UK regulations:
Although D&D Wildcard Racing runs as an independent race team within the paddock it has access to an additional layer of emergency support at each circuit venue from either Caterham direct or DPR should the worst happen. The car is serviced pre/post race weekends by the highly capable team of mechanics and engineers at DPR Motorsport, Redhill, Surrey. Expert driver training is received from Darren Burke and the Racelogic VBOX Video HD2 1080p 60fps data system enhanced with brake and throttle sensors facilitates his accurate assessment of each and every driver input.

  • Caterham 310R BRSCC run using Avon ZZS tyres comprises 7 double header race weekends with the best 12 scores from 15 results counting.
  • CGRC Trophy Sigma 150 BARC run using barcoded limited sets of Yokohama Tyres comprises 4 double header race weekends with the best 6 scores from 8 results counting.

Having put the car on the front row of the grid at Snetterton and recording a flurry of top 10 results in the second half of the 2021 season, driver Allan Curtis hopes to continue in that positive vein and secure a podium finish.

2022 circuits include Silverstone International, Brands Hatch Indy, Cadwell Park, Snetterton 300, Knockill standard and reverse, Silverstone GP, Donington National, Anglesey International, Spa Francorchamps
